The Challenge & Solution

Mint was engaged by Interac Corp. to design an immersive experiential activation within a 10x30 foot footprint at Restaurants Canada - Canada’s largest foodservice and hospitality event, drawing over 25,000 industry professionals. The mandate was to show restaurant owners, chefs, and operators how Interac Debit and e-Transfer for business help operations thrive efficiently and securely.

To achieve this, Mint conceptualized the Interac Snack Shop, a dynamic, double-sided retail experience. On one end, an interactive storefront shone a light on the customer and business transaction perspective; on the other, a fully realized back-of-house operations space showcased small-business resource kits and payment solutions.

The Experience & Impact

Guests received an RFID card upon entry, guiding them through product discovery across custom merchandise displays and the Interac Cookbook. At checkout, visitors tapped their cards at a centralized cash register to activate a large-scale Savings Calculator, instantly visualizing long-term annual fee savings. Engagement was rewarded with sweet treats, Start Up Lane contest entries, and "Proudly Canadian" totes.

The activation recorded 11,242 total taps and captured 1,836 qualified leads - 65.6% of whom were restaurant and foodservice decision-makers. Most importantly, the experience proved a staggering $41.9M in estimated annual fee savings potential for Canadian businesses.
